Block Network (“the App”) is a local app firewall for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes.
1. Who we are
Block Network is published by the developer of package com.expocodit.netpilot. Contact: use the Google Play listing support email for this app.
2. What the App does
The App uses Android’s VpnService API to create a local tunnel on your device. Traffic for apps you mark as blocked is discarded on device. Allowed apps bypass the tunnel. This is not a remote commercial VPN that routes your traffic through our servers or hides your public IP. All firewall features (unlimited block lists, presets, schedules) are available at no charge. Optional cloud sync of your settings is available when you create an account.
3. Data we process (on your device and, if you opt in, in the cloud)
- Installed app names, package names, and icons of network-capable apps (to show the list).
- Your block lists for Wi‑Fi and mobile data (stored in on-device preferences).
- Optional accessibility events limited to the package name of an app that comes to the foreground (only to notify you if that package is blocked).
- Optional on-device traffic byte counters while the firewall is active (not uploaded as traffic payloads).
- UI preferences (welcome seen, schedules, presets, auto-start flags).
- Optional App Lock PIN: stored only on device as a one-way salted hash (not your plaintext PIN). Biometric unlock uses the platform BiometricPrompt and is never sent off-device.
- Optional account: if you create or sign in to an account (email/password or Google), Firebase Authentication stores your account identifier (e.g. email and UID).
- Optional cloud sync: when you are signed in, we store your block-list package names, schedules, presets JSON, and related preference flags in Google Cloud Firestore under your account UID so you can restore them on another device. We do not upload VPN packet payloads or Accessibility screen content.
4. Purchases
The App does not sell subscriptions or in-app purchases. There is no Google Play Billing integration.
5. Cloud providers
Account and sync use Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore). Data is processed according to Google’s terms and your region configuration in the Firebase project.
6. Permissions
- VPN: local firewall.
- Accessibility (optional): blocked-app launch notifications only; not an accessibility tool for disabilities.
- Notifications: status and optional alerts.
- Battery optimization exemption: keep the firewall reliable when you enable it.
- Boot completed: only if you enable auto-start.
- Internet: start local firewall and, if used, contact Google/Firebase for account and sync.
7. Sharing
Data is not sold. It may leave the device through: your own exports; device backup features you control; and, if you enable account/sync, Firebase for authentication and cloud copies of block lists/settings.
8. Retention & deletion
On-device block lists and preferences remain until you clear them in Settings, clear app storage, or uninstall. Cloud data for your UID remains until you use in-app Delete account (which removes Firebase Auth user data and Firestore documents under that user when the operation succeeds) or request deletion via Play listing support. Export files exist only where you save them.
9. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the App and Play listing date.
11. Contact
Use the developer contact on the Play Store listing.
